Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.97% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 2.55 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.98 per cent), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.79 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Granules India Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.97 per cent at 15252.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 145.75 points at 19835.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 495.09 points at 66574.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Infibeam Avenues, JP Power, Suzlon Energy and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Yash Pakka, Uniinfo Telecom Serv, Adhunik Industries, Andhra Paper and N K Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Winsome Yarns, GIR Natureview, Ortel Communications, Shree Ram Proteins and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
