Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.63 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.61 per cent at 17379.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 148.46 points at 21517.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 535.88 points at 71356.6.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of Kothari Prod, Brooks Labs, Mahamaya Steel, Inventure Grwth and Sobha hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Raj Rayon, Nagreeka Capital, Sonam Clock, Touchwood Entertainm and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
