Shares of Wipro Ltd.(up 4.03 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 3.0 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.76 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 2.7 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.27 per cent up at 42872.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 163.71 points at 25127.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 591.69 points at 81973.05.
