Tokyo stocks opened lower on Monday on investors’ fears that the Middle East crisis may deteriorate further.The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.47 percent, or 146.06 points, to 31,113.30, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.35 percent, or 7.96 points, to 2,247.69.
