Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday as investors cheered overnight gains of US high-tech shares. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.14 percent, or 54.07 points, to 39,857.16 in early trade, while the broader Topix index rose 0.11 percent, or 2.90 points, to 2,724.12.
