Hi everyone, this is Akash Majumder from ET Markets. Welcome to ET Market Watch. Let’s take a look at today’s highlights

Indian equity markets extended their losses to the 4th straight day on Friday in a volatile trade.

At the close, Sensex fell 220 points
While nifty settled below 19,700 mark.

Sectorally, the Nifty PSU Bank index was the top gainer, rising 4%; while Pharma & healthcare indices fell 2% each.

Coming to stock specific action,
Shares of Berger Paints climbed over 7% as it traded ex-bonus in the session.

Shares of Wipro settled 2% lower after the company’s CFO Jatin Dalal resigned in a surprise move.

Meanwhile, Glenmark Pharma shares fell 3% after the firm received board approval to sell a 75% stake in subsidiary Glenmark Life Sciences to Nirma Ltd.

On the IPO front, 3 issues — Signature Global, Sai Silks and Vaibhav Jewellers — were available to public for subscription today.
