Avenue Supermart shares down 0.44% as Nifty drops

NEW DELHI: Shares of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. traded 0.44 per cent down in Wednesday’s trade at 12:28PM (IST). Around 10,060 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 3744.05 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 3784.9 and Rs 3703.5, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 4203.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 3292.65.

As per BSE, the total market cap of the Avenue Supermarts Ltd. stood at Rs 241864.47 crore at the time of writing this report.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 13605.39 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2023, up 7.46 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 12661.29 crore and up 17.28 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 11600.61 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 690.61 crore, up 17.12 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shareholding pattern
As of 31-Dec-2023, domestic institutional investors held 7.2 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 7.96 per cent and the promoters 74.65 per cent.
Valuation ratio
According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 99.41 and a price-to-book ratio of 13.72. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
