Shares of Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 3.18 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 3.01 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.19 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.09 per cent) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.9 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.44 per cent at 22255.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 100.05 points at 24668.25, while the BSE Sensex stood 384.55 points at 81748.57.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, Ola Electric Mobilit and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Donear Ind, Siyaram Silk, Pudumjee Paper Prod, Bajaj Healthcare and Dynamic Cables hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while MT Educare, Coffee Day Ent, Odigma Consultancy, Universus Photo and Ecos(India)Mobilit hit their fresh 52-week lows.
