Shares of Granules India Ltd.(up 4.27 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.72 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.65 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.43 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.47 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.73 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.26 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.62 per cent down at 21540.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.21 points at 24857.3, while the BSE Sensex stood up 60.14 points at 81415.98. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Trident Ltd and HFCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Fiberweb India, TCPL Packaging, Asahi Songwon, TPL Plastech and Silly Monks Entertainment hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while SecUR Credentials, Focus Lighting, SEL Manufacturing Co, AGI Infra Ltd. and Equitas Small Fin hit their fresh 52-week lows.
