Shares of Biocon Ltd.(up 3.98 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.87 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 2.41 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 2.39 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 2.24 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.93 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.94 per cent up at 21105.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 7.41 points at 24406.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 109.08 points at 80039.8. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, IFCI, Suzlon Energy, IDBI Bank and MMTC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of IL&FS Invest, MMTC, RPP Infra Proj, Faze Three Ltd and Standard Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Filatex Fashions, North Eastern, Manaksia Aluminium, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
