Shares of Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 3.44 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 2.86 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 2.2 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 2.07 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 1.42 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 3.52 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.42 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.03 per cent up at 52280.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 21.66 points at 24509.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 102.57 points at 80502.08. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Teleservices, IRFC and Rashtriya Chemicals were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of North Eastern, Sportking India, Antony Waste Handling, Sonam Clock and Nitin Spinners hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shrenik, Baid Leasing, Brightcom Group, SecUR Credentials and Palred Technologies hit their fresh 52-week lows.
