NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 271.5 points up at 71657.71 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Bharat Agri Fert(down 12.05 per cent), Wagend Infra(down 12.00 per cent), Almondz Global(down 9.99 per cent), Sanmit Infra(down 9.98 per cent) and Goyal Associate(down 9.95 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 28 stocks closed in the green, while 22 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 73.86 points up at 21618.7.
On the BSE, Bharat Agri Fert, Sanmit Infra, Wherrelz IT Solution, Raj Rayon and Happy Forgings hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Motisons Jewellers, Titan Sec, Network18 Media, Vidli Restaurants Lt and Jindal Hotels touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
