My name is Godspower Owie, and I was born and brought up in Edo State, Nigeria. I grew up with my three siblings who have always been my idols and mentors, helping me to grow and understand the way of life.

My parents are literally the backbone of my story. They’ve always supported me in good and bad times and never for once left my side whenever I feel lost in this world. Honestly, having such amazing parents makes you feel safe and secure, and I won’t trade them for anything else in this world.

I was exposed to the cryptocurrency world 3 years ago and got so interested in knowing so much about it. It all started when a friend of mine invested in a crypto asset, which he yielded massive gains from his investments.

When I confronted him about cryptocurrency he explained his journey so far in the field. It was impressive getting to know about his consistency and dedication in the space despite the risks involved, and these are the major reasons why I got so interested in cryptocurrency.

Trust me, I’ve had my share of experience with the ups and downs in the market but I never for once lost the passion to grow in the field. This is because I believe growth leads to excellence and that’s my goal in the field. And today, I am an employee of Bitcoinnist and NewsBTC news outlets.

My Bosses and co-workers are the best kinds of people I have ever worked with, in and outside the crypto landscape. I intend to give my all working alongside my amazing colleagues for the growth of these companies.

Sometimes I like to picture myself as an explorer, this is because I like visiting new places, I like learning new things (useful things to be precise), I like meeting new people – people who make an impact in my life no matter how little it is.

One of the things I love and enjoy doing the most is football. It will remain my favorite outdoor activity, probably because I’m so good at it. I am also very good at singing, dancing, acting, fashion and others.

I cherish my time, work, family, and loved ones. I mean, those are probably the most important things in anyone’s life. I don’t chase illusions, I chase dreams.

I know there is still a lot about myself that I need to figure out as I strive to become successful in life. I’m certain I will get there because I know I am not a quitter, and I will give my all till the very end to see myself at the top.

I aspire to be a boss someday, having people work under me just as I’ve worked under great people. This is one of my biggest dreams professionally, and one I do not take lightly. Everyone knows the road ahead is not as easy as it looks, but with God Almighty, my family, and shared passion friends, there is no stopping me.

A key price level is giving Bitcoin trouble — and on-chain data may explain why.

Related Reading

Realized Price Puts A Ceiling On The Rally

The $75,000 mark is not just a round number for Bitcoin traders. It sits at the lower band of what analysts call the “traders’ on-chain Realized Price” — a metric that tracks the average price at which active market participants last moved their coins.

According to CryptoQuant head of research Julio Moreno, that band has historically acted as a ceiling during bear markets, and it appears to be doing the same thing now.

Bitcoin tested the $75,000 level three times on Coinbase in a single 24-hour stretch and was turned back each time.

The rally itself has been real. Bitcoin climbed roughly 12% in March, touching a six-week high of around $76,000 on March 17. But momentum has stalled right where analysts warned it might.

Source: CryptoQuant

Large Deposits Flood Into Exchanges

What makes the stall more significant is what’s happening behind the scenes. On March 16, hourly Bitcoin inflows to centralized exchanges surged to 6,100 BTC — the highest single-hour reading since February 20.

Data shows that large deposits made up over 60% of that total, the biggest share since mid-October 2025.

When traders move Bitcoin onto exchanges, it usually means one thing: they’re getting ready to sell. Moreno said that historically, spikes in large exchange deposits have been tied to rising selling pressure.

The timing — right as Bitcoin ran into resistance — is hard to ignore.

BTCUSD trading at $72,499 on the 24-hour chart: TradingView

The question now is whether that selling pressure will be enough to push prices back down, or whether buyers will absorb it and push through the $75,000 wall.

Fed Decision Adds To Market Uncertainty

Broader financial conditions are adding another layer of complexity. The Federal Reserve is set to announce its rate decision Wednesday, and based on CME futures, traders are pricing in a 98.9% chance that rates stay where they are — with just a 1.1% chance of a hike.

But holding rates steady may not be the most market-moving part of the announcement. Reports indicate the Federal Reserve could signal that no rate cuts are coming at all in 2026, citing ongoing inflation concerns and the fallout from the US-Iran war. That kind of guidance tends to weigh on risk assets.

Related Reading

The Harder Wall Still Lies Ahead

Even if Bitcoin manages to clear $75,000 with enough conviction to hold, there is another obstacle waiting higher up.

The full Realized Price — which reflects the average break-even level for active traders — currently sits near $84,700. That figure acted as resistance in both October and January.

Clearing $75,000 would be a start. Getting to $84,700 would be a different challenge entirely.

Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

The Ethereum network and its price are moving in separate directions as the market faces continued bearish action. On-chain data are showing that the ETH network is performing at one of its most remarkable rates while its price action continues to lag behind due to the ongoing volatile landscape.

All-Time High Network Usage, But Flat Ethereum Price

Given the bearish state of the cryptocurrency market, the price of Ethereum has fallen sharply, causing the leading altcoin to retest the $2,100 threshold last seen in mid 2025. Ethereum’s price may be experiencing sideways movement, but the network is currently performing at a significant rate.

In a post shared on X by Leon Waidmann, head of research at On-chain Foundation, it is noted that even as ETH’s price is still seeing waning activity, on-chain activity has reached all-time highs. This divergence shows a growing discrepancy between ETH’s restrained price action and its growing fundamentals, indicating that actual economic activity is escalating despite market caution.

Waidmann claims that ETH is officially the most undervalued it has been since 2019. Data shows that ETH’s price has fallen about 50% from its all-time high, but its network usage has exploded by over 300% after months of a cool-off.

It is worth noting that the same setup was also observed in January 2019. However, the current pattern is much bigger than the last time, which raises the possibility of a similar result occurring this time, but only bigger. In January 2019, when the setup took place, the price of Ethereum was struggling at the $1,200 mark, and crypto participants believed that the altcoin was dead.

Meanwhile, over 1.2 million wallet addresses were active during the period and were using the network. As a result, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) was being built in the bear market phase. Following the setup, ETH’s price witnessed a bounce from $1,200 to the $4,800 mark, representing an over 3,300% increase.

For January 2026, ETH’s price chopped in half from $6,400 to $3,300, and the market has started to treat the altcoin like it’s dying. However, as seen in the blue area marked on the chart, there are now over 3.4 million active addresses with contracts.

This marks a 3x growth compared to the 2021 peak, and an absolute record high. “In 2019, everyone ignored it. Then, ETH ripped faces off for 2 years straight. The setup today is identical – just the numbers are 3X bigger,” Waidmann added. When this reprices, Waidmann has predicted a violent upward move for Ethereum.

A Record High In Transactions Processed

According to a report from Everstake, the Ethereum network has also reached a historic milestone in terms of transactions processed on the blockchain. In January 2026 alone, the network processed 70 million transactions, representing the highest monthly activity in its entire existence.

Everstake noted that this substantial number of transactions processed is all taking place in a very unfavorable market climate. Should this growth continue when sentiment flips positive, it could change the course of ETH’s price, shifting it to the upside once again.

As the window for Americans to enroll in an Affordable Care Act health plan closes in most states today, millions of Americans remain in limbo as Congress weighs whether to extend tax subsidies designed to lower the cost of Obamacare insurance.

Congress has been locked in a showdown for months over the fate of the enhanced ACA premium tax credits, which expired on Dec. 31. The fight over the subsidies was central to the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, which dragged on for six weeks.

The House approved a measure last week to extend the tax credits for three years after 17 Republicans joined Democrats in forcing a vote on the issue. Yet the extension faces an uphill climb in the Republican-controlled Senate, which previously rejected a separate plan to extend the credits for three years.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is working on a compromise that includes a two-year extension of the ACA subsidies, but GOP senators said Thursday that progress has stalled.

Separately, President Trump on Thursday announced a health care proposal that the White House said would “send money directly to the American people, lower health insurance premiums and cut kickbacks that raise insurance premiums.”

In the meantime, the clock is ticking for Americans to make decisions about their coverage. The deadline to sign up for health insurance through the ACA marketplace is Jan. 15 for most states. However, 10 states are offering an extended enrollment window to give residents extra time to select a plan.

States with extended ACA enrollment deadlines, according to healthinsurance.org:

California: Jan. 31

Connecticut: Jan. 31

District of Columbia: Jan. 31

Massachusetts: Jan. 23

Illinois: Jan. 31

New Jersey: Jan. 31

New York: Jan. 31

Pennsylvania: Jan. 31

Rhode Island: Jan. 31

Virginia: Jan. 30

For those yet to enroll in an ACA plan, the higher costs are sure to be a consideration. Nonprofit health group KFF previously estimated that, barring action by Congress, Obamacare premiums could more than double this year for the more than 20 million Americans who previously received the tax credits.

“The end of open enrollment in many states and the most recent enrollment numbers confirm what people across the country are already feeling: We are in a health care affordability crisis,” said Michelle Sternthal, interim senior director of policy and strategy at Community Catalyst, a health care advocacy group. “When Congress failed to extend the enhanced premium tax credits, premiums spiked overnight.”

Some people are dumping their ACA coverage due to steeper costs. Florida resident Stacy Kanas, 59, told CBS News that her family is dropping its ACA plan after learning that their premiums would spike.

“That is why we’re not choosing to be covered at this time,” she said. “It’s cost-prohibitive.”

ACA premiums for “silver” plans, the second lowest-cost Obamacare coverage, have jumped nearly 22% in 2026, according to a recent analysis by the Urban Institute. By comparison, the nonpartisan think tank projected that health insurance costs for employer-sponsored plans would rise by no more than 7% this year.

Data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services shows 22.8 million people had enrolled in ACA marketplace plans as of Jan. 12, down 1.4 million from the number of Americans who had enrolled in Obamacare, as the health plans are known, a year ago.

Can Congress extend the credits after open enrollment ends?

Technically, there is no deadline for Congress to extend the ACA tax credits, leaving the door open for a congressional remedy, experts have noted.

“The ACA premium subsidies are refundable tax credits, which are calculated on an annual basis,” Larry Levitt, executive vice president for health policy at KFF, said in a December blog post, “So, an extension could happen even after the deadline to sign up for coverage and be made retroactive to January 1.”

If the credits are preserved, Levitt said state and federal ACA marketplaces would update their systems, and open enrollment would be extended to give people more time to sort through plan options. However, if a resolution comes later in the year, it could make matters more difficult, Levitt said.

“Any changes to the ACA tax credits mid-year would complicate the logistics and slow down the reopening of enrollment and the premium relief,” he said in a post.

Asian stocks traded in a tight range at the open after losses on Wall Street as signs of fatigue crept into the AI-fueled equity rally.

Shares in Japan and Australia edged up while those in South Korea retreated. The S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and a gauge of global stocks each dropped 0.3% Wednesday, extending declines from the prior day.

An index of US-listed Chinese companies rallied against the downcast mood on Wall Street to climb 2.8%. Equity-index futures for Hong Kong retreated as the city returns to normalcy after Super Typhoon Ragasa. Insurance claims from the typhoon can be $50 million to $100 million, according to Bloomberg Intelligence.

Treasury yields steadied after rising across the curve in the prior session. An index of the dollar edged 0.1% lower after climbing Wednesday. Investors will also focus on the sale of 40-year Japanese government bonds Thursday.

Wednesday’s retreat signaled a breather for an AI-driven surge that has already lifted the S&P 500 about 12% this year as investors rushed to names like Nvidia Corp. That momentum appeared to dissipate Wednesday as traders awaited fresh catalysts amid risks stemming from a labor-market slowdown to sticky inflation.

“Timeout called,” said Craig Johnson at Piper Sandler. “The trend of strong gains isn’t over yet. However, the short-term risk-reward profile is becoming more compressed as stocks extend higher while underlying momentum fades.”Policy risks were also weighing on markets. South Korea’s prime minister warned that major investment projects in the US will stall until visa issues are resolved, urging Washington to reassure Koreans worried about detentions. Separately, the administration launched investigations into imports of robotics, industrial machinery and medical devices, a sign President Donald Trump may expand his tariff regime.

Elsewhere, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President Mary Daly said further interest-rate cuts are likely needed, but the US central bank should approach those with caution.

While the S&P 500 has defied September’s gloomy reputation as the worst month for equity returns, the gauge failed to gain traction on Wednesday, sparking concerns the rally has hit an air pocket.

At Bank of America Corp., Savita Subramanian noted that on 19 of 20 metrics, the US equity benchmark is trading at statistically expensive levels.

“In theory, investors pay up for predictable assets and are compensated for uncertainty. Perhaps we should anchor to today’s multiples as the ‘new normal’ rather than expecting mean reversion to a bygone era,” Subramanian at BofA said in a note.

Of course, risks abound, from sticky inflation to the expansion of the US job market moderating.

“The stagflation issue keeps popping its head up every few months,” said Matt Maley at Miller Tabak. Whether Friday’s key price data adds to stagflation fears — or minimizes them — should be important for how the market acts as we move into the month of October, he said.

In commodities, copper prices soared after Freeport-McMoRan Inc. said force majeure was declared on contracted supplies from its giant Grasberg mine in Indonesia. Gold fell 0.7% Wednesday as oil climbed for a second day.

After a powerful breakout last week that pushed Bitcoin into a new all-time high of $118,667, the world’s leading cryptocurrency appears to be taking a breather. As of the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading around $117,953, slightly below its recent peak. The move followed a string of consecutive daily gains as bullish momentum swept across the crypto industry.

In a technical analysis shared on the TradingView platform, crypto analyst RLinda pointed out two scenarios that may play out over the coming days and weeks, depending on how Bitcoin reacts to nearby resistance and support levels.

Although Bitcoin has entered what seems to be a consolidation phase, there’s no confirmed top just yet. The market structure still favors bullish continuation, especially considering Bitcoin is just coming out of a prolonged two-month consolidation zone and entering a realization phase.

According to the 1-hour candlestick price chart, Bitcoin is currently trading just above a support area below $117,500. If Bitcoin fails to hold this zone, the leading cryptocurrency could kick off a cascade of corrections that could drive the price to $115,500, then potentially to $114,300, and even back to the previous all-time high of $111,800.

Below that, the 0.5 and 0.705 Fibonacci levels around $113,031 and $111,960 respectively may act as temporary cushions. The last major defensive buy zone is around $110,400, where bulls may step in for a bounce. Basically, what this means is that if Bitcoin loses the support level at $115,500, it could slip back to $110,000 before encountering another strong buy support zone.

On the other hand, Bitcoin can still push above $118,000 and increase to $125,000, but only under certain conditions. The condition of the rally’s continuation depends primarily on Bitcoin registering a decisive daily close above $118,400 and $118,900.
Bitcoin spent around 228 days above the 0.75 euphoria threshold in the previous bull market cycle. In contrast, this current cycle has only seen about 30 days above that level, which suggests long-term holders have not yet fully exited into profit and the leading cryptocurrency hasn’t reached overheated conditions.

Ethereum has been consolidating in a tight price range for several months, trading between $3,200 and $3,500. Despite the broader market’s recent upward movement, ETH still struggles to break out of this range.

This stagnation comes after a prolonged decline from its all-time high of $4,800, recorded in late 2021. The cryptocurrency is now down roughly 32% from this peak.

Notably, even the appointment of the new pro-crypto administration and a renewed sense of regulatory clarity have done little to propel Ethereum beyond its current resistance levels.

Amid these market conditions, ShayanBTC, a contributor to CryptoQuant’s QuickTake platform, has highlighted a critical metric that could signal an impending price move for ETH.

Elevated Leverage Ratios In Ethereum And Its Implications

According to Shayan in a recent analysis uploaded on the CryptoQuant QuickTake platform, the Estimated Leverage Ratio of Ethereum—a measure of the average leverage used by futures market participants—has been climbing steadily so far.

This rise as reported by Shayan reflects an increased willingness among traders to take on risk, even as Ethereum’s price remains stuck in consolidation. With leverage at elevated levels, the stage may be set for a significant price swing, though its direction remains uncertain. Shayan noted:

The impending breakout from this range, driven by the high-leverage environment, is expected to trigger a significant and impulsive price move.

Shayan elaborated that as more traders take on higher leverage, the market becomes more susceptible to sharp price movements. This is because if these leveraged positions are liquidated—either through a short or long squeeze—it could trigger a sudden and significant price adjustment.

The ongoing consolidation around $3,200–$3,500 has heightened interest in what lies ahead for Ethereum. The CryptoQuant analyst wrote:

Given the prevailing market sentiment, a bullish breakout appears more probable. However, traders should monitor the leverage ratio closely, as any abrupt change could lead to unexpected volatility and liquidations.

ETH Market Performance

At the time of writing, ETH trades at $3,282, declining by 0.1% in the past 24 hours. Interestingly, despite this lackluster performance from ETH, the asset’s daily trading volume in the past week has been quite positive.

Last Wednesday, ETH’s trading volume sat below $20 billion, however as of today, Ethereum’s daily trading volume hovers above $24 billion. This is quite an opposite trend especially when compared to ETH’s market performance over the same period.

According to Javon Marks, a renowned crypto analyst on X, Ethereum appears to be on the verge of a significant rally to $12,000 due to a similar performance to the Fib Level as it did in a previous bull cycle.

ETH (Ethereum), with a similar performance to the 1.618 Fib Level as it did this past bull cycle, could be set for a near +240% increase from here to the $11,865.6 levels!

Banking behemoth VanEck has valued Ethereum Layer-2 (L2) solutions at an astounding $1 trillion in a daring prediction, emphasizing the critical role that efficiency gains and scalability improvements will play in the development of blockchain technology.

Ethereum Layer 2s Poised For Significant Increase In Valuation

According to VanEck researchers, Ethereum Layer 2 scaling networks are expected to soar to the aforementioned market valuation by 2030. Leading the comprehensive prediction were Patrick Bush, the senior investment analyst at VanEck, and Matthew Sigel, the head of digital research.

Specifically, the bold forecast was carried out while evaluating Ethereum Layer 2s in five distinct important areas. These include Layer 2s transaction pricing, developer experience, user experience, trust assumptions, and L2s ecosystem size. In addition, it was made by first assessing the amount of assets in the Ethereum ecosystem and then projecting that ETH would account for about 60% of the market share among public blockchains.

It is noteworthy that Layer 2s, by managing the majority of transactions off the main blockchain, addresses scalability issues. In this case, Zero-knowledge roll-ups (ZKUs) and optimistic roll-ups (ORUs) are the two major forms of layer 2 networks.

Given the limits of the main blockchain’s transaction processing, these L2 technologies may be able to generate more funds than Ethereum since they handle scalability by processing transactions off the main network.

As the researchers stated, in the future, a few general-purpose L2s will be in control, but a plethora of roll-ups tailored to certain use cases will also arise, making it possible to host social media networks on different rollups.

The report read:

Beyond the dominance of a few roll-ups among general-purpose L2s, we forecast a future of thousands of use-case-specific roll-ups. These L2 will be segmented by sector, application, or function. Other types of chains may be specifically geared towards hosting a whole sector, such as a roll-up that hosts a social media network, as well as applications that want to build products and services for that social media network.

This forecast by VanEck primarily points to the possibility that L2 solutions could perform better in terms of value than Ethereum in the next six years. The report also claims that Layer-2 blockchains will benefit from Ethereum’s restricted processing power, as well as its data-storing and computation capabilities.

ETH Price Experiences Bearish Activity

Presently, Ethereum’s price is declining after failing to rise above the $4,000 mark once more. Even though the market is currently correcting downward, a positive bounce is still anticipated to occur soon.

Compared to other notable coins in the crypto market like Bitcoin, ETH has underperformed over the past month. Consequently, there have been speculations within the cryptocurrency community, if a further decline is imminent.

ETH has seen a decrease of more than 10% since March, following a surge to $4,091 ahead of the Dencun upgrade. As of press time, Ethereum was trading at $3,343, displaying an increase of 1% in the past day.

Its market cap is now valued at $401,42 billion, with a 1% rise in the last 24 hours. However, its daily trading volume has plummeted by over 30%, pegging at $13,50 billion.

Despite a groundbreaking day in the US with the largest Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) launch for a single asset, the Bitcoin price remained stagnant, hovering around the $46,000 mark. This development has raised questions within the community, particularly in light of the extraordinary trading volume and participation seen in the ETF market.

Record-Breaking ETF Launch

On its first trading day, Bitcoin ETFs saw unprecedented activity. The total volume reached $4.6 billion, distributed among major players such as Grayscale ($2.3 billion), BlackRock ($1 billion), Fidelity ($700 million), ARK 21Shares ($288 million), and Bitwise ($125 million). This event marked over 700,000 individual trades.

Nate Geraci, President of the ETF Store and co-founder of the ETF Institute, remarked, “GBTC had the largest ETF launch by trading volume ever with $2.3 billion… iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) had the 5th largest launch with $1 billion. GBTC obviously had built-in liquidity, but it’s still a record. IBIT’s performance is impressive given it launched the same day as 10 other competitors.”

Bloomberg’s ETF expert Eric Balchunas added, “All told, there were 700,000 individual trades today in and out of the 11 spot ETFs. For context, that is double the number of trades for QQQ (although it sees much bigger $ volume because bigger fish use it). So, there was a lot more grassroots action (versus big seed buys) than I expected, which is good.”

Bitcoin Price Cannot Maintain Its Gains

Despite these impressive figures, the Bitcoin price struggled to surpass the $50,000 threshold. Although BTC briefly touched $49,000, it failed to maintain these gains, dipping to as low as $45,700. At press time, the price settled around $46,000.

Dan Ripoll, managing director at Swan Bitcoin, argued almost everyone expected Bitcoin to either rip, or to sell off on the ETF news, but neither happened. So what’s behind the muted price response?

Ripoll argues that compliance departments at brokerage firms often take “weeks to several months to add new products to their internal ‘approved products list’ for advisors to sell.” Moreover, the expert explained that several large broker-dealers like Vanguard, UBS, Citi and Merrill Lynch have either restricted or disallowed their retail clients to buy any spot Bitcoin ETFs.

A significant point of discussion was Vanguard’s decision to block its customers from buying into the new BTC Spot ETFs, citing that these products “don’t fit with Vanguard’s investment philosophy.” This move by the world’s second-largest asset manager, behind BlackRock, further complicates the landscape for Bitcoin ETF adoption.

“There may be other brokers who blocked these sales as well for ideological reasons. They don’t believe in Bitcoin. I didn’t expect this at all. They’ll lose customers quickly with this strategy,” Ripoll stated.

Matt Dines, Chief Investment Officer at Build Asset Management LLC, added another very important fact that is probably not widely known:

The dollars behind today’s spot ETF volume haven’t even hit the fund portfolio managers’ desks yet. Most create orders behind today’s flows will get cash settled tomorrow morning T+1 … i.e. the capital behind today’s wave hasn’t even started lifting offers in the UTXO market.

Rotation Plays And GBTC Selling

Besides that there are reports of investors rotating out of Bitcoin ETF proxies, like BITO and mining stocks, to redeploy capital into better proxies, such as the new spot ETFs. This shift might have mildly suppressed ETF inflows and could take months to fully materialize.

It is also interesting to note that Grayscale accounted for half of yesterday’s trading volume, much of which could have been sell orders. In the run-up to the spot ETF approval, GBTC was a popular bet among speculators who had taken advantage of the discount of over 40% at times in the hope that this would close with the ETF launch. This is exactly what happened, with GBTC only trading at around -1% yesterday.

Thus, most of the GBTC trading was probably selling. This is supported by the fact that there is probably no point for investors to hold the GBTC with its enormous 1.5% yearly fee when other spot Bitcoin ETF issuers offer 0.25%.

Fred Krueger, a crypto expert, stated, “GBTC volume must be 90% sales. Some of that went into IBIT.” BitMEX Research commented, “The GBTC volume could be mostly selling and outflow. It has been trading at a discount for almost all the trading day, so not likely to be buying.”

In summary, the lack of a significant Bitcoin price surge, despite the record ETF day, can be attributed to a combination of factors including GBTC selling, compliance delays, brokerage restrictions, fund rotations, and ideological stances by major financial institutions.

At press time, BTC traded at $45,893.
