Mumbai: Technology and infrastructure solutions provider Siemens Ltd on Friday reported a 27% jump in consolidated net profit for the third quarter of financial year 2024. Net profit came in at Rs 578 crore in the June quarter as compared with Rs 456 crore a year ago, according to an exchange filing on Friday.

The company follows an October–September period to report its quarterly results. Total revenue was up 7% at Rs 5203 crore against Rs 4873 crore.

Sunil Mathur, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Limited, said, “All our businesses performed well in the quarter with robust growth in revenue and profitability. The strong performance came off a high-quality order backlog that we continue to deliver diligently.”

Marhur added that while order income continues to be strong in our thr smart inrastructure, mobility and energy segments, the company continue to experience weak order intake in the digital industries segment.

“We believe that with the Government’s focus on Capex in Infrastructure, demand for our products and solutions will continue to remain strong.” The company’s new orders stood at Rs. 6,245 crore, an increase of 18% over the same period last year. Revenue from energy segment declined from Rs 1,518 crore to Rs 1,485 crore year-on-year. Shares of Siemens closed 1.44% higher at Rs 6,882.85 apiece on the BSE, compared to a 1% advance in the benchmark Sensex

The share price of Siemens Ltd. gained 0.43 per cent to Rs 4118.35 at 11:12AM (IST) in Wednesday’s trade. The scrip has hit a high of Rs 4119.95 and low of Rs 4032.7 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 4100.6 in the previous session.

The counter has had a total traded volume of 2385 shares so far with a value of Rs 0.98 crore on the NSE. It traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 76.41 and a price-to-book ratio of 9.99.

A higher price-to-earnings ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and reflects the price investors are willing to pay even for no growth in the business.

The scrip gained 39.88 per cent during the past one year, while the 30-share index advanced 19.65 per cent during the same period.

The firm reported consolidated net sales of Rs 5953.2 crore for the quarter ended 30-Sep-2023, up 18.93 per cent from the previous quarter’s Rs 5005.6 crore and up 25.07 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 4759.9 crore.

Profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 571.3 crore, down 12.42 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

Shares of Siemens Ltd. traded 2.15 per cent up at Rs 4100.8 at 10:15AM (IST) on Tuesday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex gained 470.21 points to 71825.43.

The stock had closed at Rs 4014.15 in the previous session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 4244.55 and 52-week low of Rs 2811.95, respectively. As per BSE data, total traded volume on the counter till 10:15AM (IST) stood at 1835 shares with a turnover of Rs 0.76 crore.

At the current price, the stock traded at 74.24 times its trailing 12-month EPS of Rs 55.06 per share and 9.99 times its price-to-book value, exchange data showed.

The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 4066.1 and a 52-week low of 2692.0. About 5,459 shares changed hands on the counter so far.

Benchmark Nifty50 was up 80.85 points at 19774.85, while the BSE Sensex traded 237.43 points higher at 65892.58 at the time of writing of this report.
