<div data-brcount="19">Mortgage lender Can Fin Homes shares rallied nearly 6% to Rs 879.9 in Wednesday&#8217;s trade on BSE after the company reported a 33.8% year-on-year (YoY) surge in net profit at Rs 211.5 crore for the second quarter that ended September 30, 2024.</p>
<p>In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the company posted a net profit of Rs 158.1 crore.</p>
<p>Net interest income (NII), which is the difference between the interest income a bank earns from its lending activities and the interest it pays to depositors, increased by 7.3%, coming at Rs 339.8 crore against Rs 316.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY24.</p>
<p>The gross non-performing asset (GNPA) stood at 0.88% in the September quarter against 0.91% in the June quarter. Net NPA came at 0.47% against 0.49% quarter-on-quarter.</p>
<p><strong>Also Read: Adani Energy tumbles 4% on Sebi&#8217;s show-cause notice<br /></strong><br />As of September 2024, Can Fin Homes&#8217; loan portfolio stood at Rs 36,591 crore, reflecting a 10% increase from Rs 33,359 crore in the same period last year. Housing loans accounted for 77% of the loan book, while non-housing loans, including commercial real estate (CRE), made up the remaining 23%.</p>
<p>Loan disbursements in Q2 FY25 reached Rs 2,381 crore, a growth of 18% from Rs 2,019 crore in Q2 FY24, and marked a sequential growth of 28% over Q1 FY25 disbursements.</p>
<p>The company board on Tuesday authorised the fundraising committee to decide terms and conditions for mobilising up to Rs 4000 crore in non-convertible debentures in one or more tranches. The bonds will be privately placed to investors.</p>
<p>At 10:39 am, the scrip was trading 4.7% higher at Rs 868.5 on BSE. Its shares have surged 11% in 2024 to date and 66% over the past two years, with the company currently holding a market capitalization of Rs 11,564 crore.</p>
