Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Bitcoin is sitting at a make-or-break zone, according to market analyst CryptoMichNL, who recently outlined two key price areas that could determine the asset’s next major move. While he believes the broader bullish structure remains intact, he also identified a lower range where investors may find what he considers one of the most attractive buying opportunities of the current cycle if support fails.

Bitcoin’s Most Important Support Zone

The analyst’s outlook centers on the region around $71,000 to $73,000, which he described as the level that must remain intact to prevent a deeper pullback. His accompanying chart highlights this area as a critical support block, positioned above a broader uptrend line that has guided Bitcoin’s recovery following the sharp correction seen earlier in the year.

According to the chart, the current market structure differs significantly from the breakdown that occurred in February. At that time, a previously established resistance level failed to transition into support, resulting in a rapid loss of momentum and a steep decline. This time, however, the analyst argues that the market is attempting to defend a former resistance zone as support, a development that could preserve the larger bullish framework.

Source: X

The chart also marks a “crucial area to break” near $76,600. Bitcoin recently retreated from that region after encountering resistance, leaving it as the next major hurdle for bulls. Just above it sits a Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) gap around $79,000, followed by another resistance cluster near the upper-$80,000 range.

According to the analyst, holding support is only the first step. A successful defense of the $71,000 area would keep the broader structure intact and increase the probability of another advance toward those overhead targets. In that scenario, Bitcoin could regain momentum and position itself for a push toward fresh cycle highs.

Where To Buy If Bitcoin Breaks Down

While the analyst remains constructive on the market, he also mapped out a contingency plan in case support gives way. If Bitcoin loses the $71,000-$73,000 region, his chart points to a significantly lower accumulation zone between roughly $61,000 and $65,000.

That area is notable for several reasons. It aligns with historical support levels established during previous consolidation phases and sits close to the 200-day moving average, a long-term trend indicator closely watched by institutional and retail participants alike. The analyst suggested that a decline into that region would represent an exceptional opportunity to buy in.

For now, the market’s attention remains fixed on two levels. The first is the defense of support near $71,000. The second is a decisive breakout above $76,600. How Bitcoin reacts around those thresholds could determine whether the next chapter brings a renewed surge toward record highs or a final opportunity for buyers to accumulate at significantly lower prices between the $61,000-$65,000 region.

After beginning the week with a steep drop from around $78,000, the Bitcoin price appears to have found stability near $73,500. However, a recent on-chain evaluation suggests that if a condition is not met, this newfound stability might just be the typical calm that precedes a storm.

Bitcoin’s Key Support Sits Around $72,400

Crypto analyst Darkfost recently took to the social media platform X in a May 29 post to highlight a critical development in Bitcoin’s on-chain dynamics and its impact on the underlying. The relevant indicator here is the “Realized Price excluding >7Y Supply” metric.

For context, the metric tracks the average acquisition cost of all Bitcoin that has moved in the last seven years, excluding long-term dormant coins, to reflect the cost basis of only active market participants.

When Bitcoin trades above this level, it often means that Bitcoin’s most active holders are doing so while enjoying profits. In this case, there is a reduced probability of panic-driven sales occurring at random.

On the other hand, when the Bitcoin price remains below this key level for an extended period, it has historically indicated that active holders are likely facing pressure, as they are holding through unrealized losses. Typically, this scenario can be dangerous for Bitcoin’s price, as investors are increasingly prone to selling off their shares, either to cut losses or to break even.

Source: @Darkfost_Coc on X

According to Darkfost, the Realized Price of Bitcoin’s active holders is around $72,400. Interestingly, the Bitcoin price recently slipped below this support level before reversing and beginning to consolidate near $73,500.

In Darkfost’s view, a dip below the aforementioned Realized Price is, in fact, a pattern typical of bear markets. However, the crypto pundit explained that this break below the key support level must be confirmed before any news of a downtrend can be considered factual.

Hence, the flagship cryptocurrency’s near- to mid-term future rests on how it moves in the short-term. If Bitcoin can build bullish momentum from its current consolidation, prices would immediately remain clearly above the average cost basis of its investors.

On the contrary, if the Bitcoin price were to close definitively below $72,400, the flagship cryptocurrency could quickly enter a bearish phase, triggered by a mass sell-off likely to follow. This means market participants should watch BTC’s price action around this key level before making financial decisions.

Bitcoin Price At A Glance

As of this writing, the price of BTC is around $73,540, reflecting a 0.4% decline over the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin has hit what one analyst describes as a major ceiling after losing the support level that held the market together for months. Following a failed push toward $83,000, the analyst now believes buying Bitcoin at current prices carries more risk than opportunity. Instead, he points to a much lower target, a level where buyers may finally step back into the market with conviction.

Bitcoin’s Former Support Has Turned Into Resistance

The analyst’s outlook centers on the collapse of the $80,500 area, a level that previously acted as the backbone of Bitcoin’s trading range for months. During earlier pullbacks, buyers repeatedly defended that zone and helped stabilize price action, allowing Bitcoin to recover and attempt new highs. That dynamic now appears to have reversed.

Related Reading

After briefly climbing toward $83,000 in May, Bitcoin failed to maintain momentum and quickly lost strength. The rejection created what the analyst described as a bull trap, where buyers entered expecting a breakout only for the market to reverse sharply lower. Since then, the same price region that once attracted demand has started functioning as resistance.

Source: X

This suggests that buyers who previously defended the area are either exhausted or stepping aside, while sellers are becoming increasingly aggressive on rebounds. According to the analyst, this shift explains why recent recovery attempts have lacked conviction and faded quickly.

The breakdown also exposed how fragile the structure beneath the market had become. Once Bitcoin slipped below the range floor, selling pressure increased rapidly, creating what traders sometimes describe as an “air pocket” — a zone where there is little strong buying interest to slow the decline.

Although Bitcoin is still trading above the mid-$70,000 region, the analyst does not believe that area represents a durable floor. Instead, it is viewed as temporary support within a broader downward move that has been developing for months.

Why The Analyst Is Watching $60,000

The analyst believes the more attractive entry zone sits much lower, specifically between $60,000 and $62,000. That projection is tied to a Fibonacci extension level near $60,000, which is being treated as the broader downside target of the breakdown structure that began forming earlier this year.

Related Reading

From the analyst’s perspective, the market has not yet completed its correction. Previous failed rallies near both $97,000 and $83,000 are now being viewed as signs of weakening momentum rather than evidence of long-term strength.

The expectation now is that any short-term rebound could run into renewed selling pressure below the broken $80,500 barrier. Until Bitcoin either reclaims that level convincingly or falls into the projected lower demand zone, the analyst sees little justification for aggressively buying the market.

That outlook reflects a growing divide among traders. He advises that, instead of buying at the current price, the better entry opportunity could come if Bitcoin falls toward the $60,000 to $62,000 region, where he expects stronger long-term demand to return.

Bitcoin is showing increasing signs of weakness as bearish pressure continues building below a critical technical level. With key support zones now under threat and reversal patterns beginning to take shape, BTC could be entering a decisive pullback phase that may determine the market’s next major direction.

Buyers Continue Losing Momentum As Decline Deepens

Crypto analyst Kamile Uray stated that Bitcoin buyers continue to appear weak as the market faces another wave of downside pressure. The analyst explained that if BTC breaks below the key bottom at $74,929, it could confirm the completion of the final shoulder in a developing OBO structure while remaining under the previous low near $76,044.

Unless Bitcoin can achieve a decisive 4-hour candle close above $78,213, the bearish trend is likely to continue. A sustained breakdown below $74,929 could open the door for a deeper decline toward the $71,000–$68,000 region, which has been identified as a major Fibonacci support zone.

Kamile Uray further explained that if stronger buying momentum eventually emerges from those lower levels, Bitcoin could attempt another recovery rally. During any upside move, the market would need to overcome resistance around $98,000, followed by the larger resistance region between $107,000 and $109,000.

However, if Bitcoin struggles to maintain strength above the recent peak near $126,199, the risk of another major corrective phase would remain active. In the case of a much deeper decline, Kamile Uray emphasized that the $60,000 level stands out as a critical long-term support area that could play a major role in future market direction.

Bitcoin Bullish Reversal Structure Begins Turning Bearish

Another crypto analyst Merry__PT has noted that Bitcoin’s recent price action is undergoing a significant structural shift. While the market initially formed a recognizable W bottom, a classic signal of a bullish reversal, this structure is now evolving into a Head and Shoulders top, which is historically viewed as a symbol of a bearish reversal.

The most critical technical element to monitor moving forward is the blue horizontal base neckline. This support zone is acting as the foundation for both the current structure and the potential for a larger trend shift. Once this neckline is clearly defined and widely acknowledged by market participants, the Head and Shoulders formation will gain significant validity.

If the price confirms a breach below this level, the pattern is likely to transition from a mere technical observation into a genuine catalyst for a sustained pullback. Beyond this structural pivot, the upcoming monthly candle close is key, acting as a pivotal axis for gauging future sentiment and market direction.

Growing concern over the trajectory of the Iran war has bond yields rising and mortgage rates following suit.

The average rate on the 30-year fixed loan rose 7 basis points Tuesday to 6.75%, according to Mortgage News Daily. That is the highest level since July 31. Rates are now up 33 basis points in just the past 10 days and are 46 basis points higher than their recent April low of 6.29%.

That April drop came after a sharp spike in rates at the start of the war, when the rate jumped from 5.99% at the start of March to 6.64% by the end of the month.

“Bonds are telling politicians to get serious about ending the war or face increasingly dire consequences,” wrote Matthew Graham, chief operating officer at Mortgage News Daily.

The move from 5.99% to now 6.75% is a meaningful change in the housing affordability math. For a buyer putting 20% down on a $420,000 home — roughly the national median home price — their monthly principal and interest payment has gone from $2,012 to $2,179, a difference of $167.

The nation’s homebuilders are slightly less sensitive to rate moves, as the builders have been buying down mortgage rates to get buyers in the door. Rates are still lower than they were a year ago, when they spiked over 7%.

“Rates are a challenge,” said John Lovallo, a UBS homebuilder analyst, in an interview Tuesday on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.” “But we’re still at levels where the builders can operate at effectively. As quickly as rates went up, they could come down just as precipitously if this war comes to some kind of resolution and oil pulls back.”

A crypto analyst has presented a new analysis, forecasting Bitcoin’s (BTC) next all-time high and potential market bottom. According to the analyst, BTC’s long-term price outlook could depend heavily on where its current market bottom forms. The analysis draws on historical cycle patterns and bear markets that preceded BTC’s explosive upward rallies. Based on these patterns, the expert projects that if BTC has found a bottom near $60,000, then the next likely top could be around $200,000.

Bitcoin Cycle Analysis Points To Final Market Bottom

Crypto market expert Ardi has shared a new outlook on X, examining Bitcoin’s long-term cycle behavior and the implications of a possible market bottom. He noted that over the last four market cycles, Bitcoin’s bottom-to-top expansion has steadily compressed, with each cycle delivering only about 40%-50% of the upside seen in the previous one.

Related Reading

For added emphasis, he explained that if the last cycle recorded a roughly 7-8x upside off the price bottom, then the next market cycle could statistically see a 3-4x upside, based on his 40-50% theory. This pattern suggests a maturing market with gradually declining exponential returns as adoption and market size increase.

Mathematically, Ardi presents his predictive model for Bitcoin’s cycle bottom and peak as:

Next cycle top ≈ this cycle bottom x (previous multiple x k)

Source: Chart from Ardi on X

The previous multiple is estimated at 7-8x from the 2022 bear market lows to the 2025 peak, while the k factor represents a historical diminishing factor of 0.4-0.5 derived from earlier Bitcoin cycles. Based on this framework, Ardi explained that if $60,000 is Bitcoin’s official bottom this cycle, then this level could serve as a key reference point for mapping the next phase of market development and potential bullish structure.

Notably, BTC crashed to $60,000 earlier in February 2026 after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran that same month, causing oil prices to skyrocket. This was the first time BTC reached this level after hitting an ATH above $126,000 in October 2025, although the cryptocurrency had been in a downtrend since that peak.

BTC Cycle Model Projects $200,000 ATH

Using the mathematical model, Ardi outlined that a $60,000 price floor would place Bitcoin’s next cycle base-case peak at $190,000 to $200,000. This zone is presented as the analyst’s expected outcome under normal diminishing returns conditions. The projection also includes a stronger extension phase, during which euphoric market momentum could push Bitcoin to $240,000, marking its true supercycle.

Related Reading: Bitcoin Price Could See Another Crash, But What Is The Long-Term Prognosis?

On the other hand, if the market bottom forms closer to $50,000, the cycle model will adjust lower, placing BTC’s base case peak near $160,000. Meanwhile, euphoric momentum could extend BTC toward the $200,000 region. Ardi emphasized that as long as the broader cycle structure remains intact, these projected ranges will continue to define where BTC’s next major bull rally could conclude.

Diesel prices in the United Kingdom have reached their highest level since December 2022, while petrol has also hit a 28-month high.

Average petrol prices are now 152 pence a litre, with diesel at 181.2 pence.

Royal Automobile Club policy chief Simon Williams informed the BBC it now costs £10.55 more to fill up a typical petrol family car than it did at the start of the Iran conflict. For diesel cars, owners are paying £21.35 more.

The war in Iran and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz have pushed global fuel costs up sharply – with some countries bringing in measures to cut usage.

Joao Wedson, popular market analyst and founder of analytics platform Alphractal, has shared a cautionary insight on the Bitcoin market involving potential developments with the Binance exchange reserves.

Binance BTC Reserves In Danger – Possible Deep Bear Market?

The Bitcoin market has remained in a bear phase for the last six months, marked by geopolitical tensions and macro uncertainties. During this time, the premier cryptocurrency has struggled to establish any sustained uptrend while constantly absorbing waves of corrective price action. In the most recent wave, Bitcoin prices returned to around $65,000, resulting in a net loss of 5.14% in the last seven days. Since then, the market has experienced a small range consolidation and presently trades around $66,000.

According to Joao Wedson, this recent decline brings Bitcoin closer to a key support level, i.e., Binance Reserve Realized Price, which represents the average cost basis of BTC coins held on the exchange. Notably, this metric presently stands at $60,490, which is a mere 9% from present price levels. A drop below this threshold would push a significant portion of Binance-held supply into unrealized losses, potentially weakening market sentiment and increasing the risk of sell pressure, especially given Binance’s position as the world’s largest crypto exchange.

Wedson notes the postulated situation had occurred in the 2022 bear market, during which the exchange’s reserve held unrealized losses for months. General historical trend recognizes Binance Reserve Realized price as a key support level, loss of which would expose the bear market to lower price levels and deepen broader losses. In this case, the initial support target is at $54,000, which represents the general realized price level. However, significant chances of lower levels remain as Bitcoin has previously experienced bear market corrections ranging between 70%-80% from the cycle peak. For context, present levels are only 52% away from the current all-time high at $126,100.

Bitcoin Price Overview

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $66,681, posting a modest 1.01% gain over the past 24 hours, though still down 1.2% on the monthly timeframe. Looking ahead, Coincodex analysts’ projections point to a potential upside, with forecasts placing BTC at $74,187 within the next five days and around $72,426 over the next one. If realized, this would signal renewed bullish momentum and a possible shift in market sentiment.

The price of Bitcoin is down by nearly 20% so far in the first quarter of the year, reflecting the sluggish market climate in 2026. The struggles of the premier cryptocurrency have been largely highlighted by the increasing apathy of different classes of investors. According to the latest on-chain data, the activity of the smallest Bitcoin investor cohort has been winding down over the past few months.

BTC Retail Activity And Demand Fall To Lowest Level In Over A Year

In a March 21st post on the X platform, pseudonymous analyst Darkfost revealed that Bitcoin retail activity (representing on-chain transactions with volumes below $10,000) has been in decline in recent months. According to the market pundit, this fall in activity also signals a deterioration in demand from retail investors.

Darkfost shared that the Bitcoin retail activity and demand appeared to have been “relatively stable” for nearly a year before its recent exhaustion. Data from CryptoQuant shows that the demand of BTC retail investors, averaged on a monthly basis, has fallen to -10%, its lowest level since January 2025.

Source: @Darkfost_Coc on X

Darkfost noted in their post:

Historically, retail demand tends to increase sharply when Bitcoin performs well and then declines just as quickly when BTC corrects. We can clearly observe that retail demand tends to shrink when bottoms are forming or during bear markets.

The crypto analyst also highlighted that retail investors have been largely absent — as expected — in this bear cycle. Typically, Bitcoin retail participation tends to sharply increase during periods of positive price performance, while retail activity contracts in the thick of the bear market.

However, Darkfost noted that the arrival of the spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has played a significant role in this dynamic, as investors receive regulated exposure to Bitcoin’s volatility. According to the latest market data, the US-based exchange-traded funds have extended their inflow streak, registering over $52 million net capital influx in the past week.

“Still, the current lack of retail interest deserves close attention, as such periods have historically been associated with corrections that are already well underway,” the analyst concluded.

Bitcoin Price At A Glance

As of this writing, the price of BTC stands at around $70,350, reflecting a 0.6% jump in the past 24 hours. Despite rising to as high as $75,500 earlier in the past week, the premier cryptocurrency has since cooled off to around $70,000 in recent days. According to data from CoinGecko, Bitcoin’s value is down by about 0.4% in the past week.

The price of Bitcoin has struggled to muster a sustained upward climb over the last few weeks, with the latest one failing around the $74,000 mark in the past week. However, the premier cryptocurrency seems to have deeper problems than failed price recovery attempts. According to a crypto market expert, the Bitcoin price is at a stage reminiscent of the bearish period of 2022.

Is BTC About To Witness A Repeat Of 2022?

In a March 8 post on the X platform, Chartered Market Technician Tony Severino shared an interesting insight into the current situation of the Bitcoin market. The crypto pundit hypothesized that the world’s largest cryptocurrency might have to endure a bearish period associated with the Terra (LUNA) ecosystem crash in 2022.

The rationale behind this evaluation is the steady decline in the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator on BTC’s two-week price chart. MACD is a prominent momentum indicator used in technical analysis to identify trend direction, momentum changes, and potential entry and exit positions.

Typically, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator has two lines: the MACD line (green) and the signal line (red), and a histogram, which reflects the distance between the two aforementioned lines. The histogram, which is the primary momentum indicator, is currently signaling a strong bearish momentum.

This observation is because the histogram bars are expanding, signaling rising momentum in the current direction (which is bearish because the bars are below the neutral or zero line). According to Severino, the MACD indicator is even expanding to levels not seen since 2022, when the Terra (LUNA) ecosystem collapse sent bearish shockwaves through the entire crypto market.

2W Bitcoin LMACD momentum is around the same point before the Luna collapse in 2022

The crypto market analyst said, “it is possible that something nasty is coming,” suggesting that another crypto winter might be imminent. After Terra’s collapse in May, the premier cryptocurrency would have fallen from above $50,000 to around $30,000 — about a 40% decline — by July 2022.

However, it is important to note that the market might have already priced in what is currently being seen in the MACD indicator, which is often considered a lagging indicator. Moreover, Bitcoin has already lost nearly 30% of its value so far in 2026.

Bitcoin Price At A Glance

At the time of this writing, the price of BTC stands at around $67,520, reflecting no significant movement in the past 24 hours.
