Trusted Editorial content, reviewed by leading industry experts and seasoned editors. Ad Disclosure

Ethereum may have bounced back above the $2,100 price level once again, but it is still far away from its recent all-time high of $4,900. Even with ETH falling this hard from its recent high, big companies are still adopting the leading altcoin, and Bitmine Immersion is demonstrating this institutional demand.

Bitmine Adds More Ethereum Amid Turbulent Conditions

Despite ongoing market turbulence, popular company Bitmine Immersion is pressing forward with its crypto expansion strategy, acquiring more Ethereum into its portfolio. The behavior suggests that the firm is leaning into volatility rather than withdrawing from it, indicating conviction in Ethereum’s long-term prospects.

According to the report from CryptoRus, the firm made another purchase of roughly 50,900 ETH, bringing its total holdings to about 4.47 million ETH. After the recent purchase, Bitmine immersion now holds roughly 3.7% of all circulating supply, making it one of the biggest holders of the altcoin across the sector.

This is not a small treasury bet. Tom Lee, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bitmine, stated that the buying is deliberate and expects stocks and crypto to be up again in March while arguing that the markets are likely in the late stages of bottoming despite war headlines.

Source: Chart from CryptoRus on X

CryptoRus highlighted that these moves by Bitmine are a clear positioning, possibly ahead of a major upward move. With hundreds of millions in cash on hand, BitMine continues to accumulate ETH, viewing the decline as a chance rather than a red flag.

Although this indicates how at least one sizable, experienced player is interpreting this stage of the cycle, it does not ensure short-term price direction. When treasury buyers step in during a period of weakness, it often implies that the companies are ignoring the noise or FUD and are gearing up for the next leg.

ETH’s Price In Alignment With Bitcoin’s

On the 1-day timeframe, Ethereum’s price is currently following Bitcoin’s move higher in addition to the formation of the white bullish triangle scenario. In the past, it was assumed that even if one more low had developed, it would have probably been the last low in the structure. However, More Crypto Online stated that it has become less relevant with the current price action, and that possibility was present in the yellow scenario.

From here, the price can always go lower, but the key point of the bearish triangle required a break of support, which never occurred. Rather, the indication that the market was moving higher has been removed. A B-wave rally was still anticipated, even in the alternate scenario that permitted one more low.

Like Bitcoin, Ethereum has been monitoring the possibility of a bigger B-wave rally on the longer period, and it now seems to be taking place. However, the structure remains fragile and does not necessarily mark the beginning of a sustained impulsive rally. Thus, the expert noted that this move should be treated in terms of probabilities rather than certainty.

After resistance was broken, the short-term negative scenario that had been indicated on the chart was eliminated. Currently, the price is trying to break above the top limit of the range at $2,150.

Bitcoin traded at about $74,500 at its bottom on Monday – its lowest price since last April.

That’s slightly below Strategy’s average purchase price of $76,052 per bitcoin, according to its regulatory filing dated Feb. 2, raising concerns that the Michael Saylor-led firm could be underwater if the digital currency continues to slide. The company holds roughly $56 billion in bitcoin, its website shows.

The pullback in shares comes as bitcoin has shed 11% over the past five days, largely due to mounting geopolitical concerns and expectations of a monetary policy shift in the U.S.

Last week, investors rotated out of risk-on assets across global markets, including cryptocurrencies, as tensions flared between President Donald Trump and European leaders over the U.S.’ Greenland gambit. On Friday, President Trump endorsed Kevin Warsh as his pick for Federal Reserve chair, leading investors to assume even more cautious positions.

A series of forced liquidations also amplified bitcoin’s plunge. More than $2 billion of long and short positions linked to the asset have been liquidated since Thursday, Coinglass data shows.

Blue Owl had been in talks with Oracle about funding a 1-gigawatt facility for OpenAI in Saline Township, Michigan, according to the Financial Times.

However, the plans fell through due to concerns about Oracle’s rising debt levels and extensive artificial intelligence spending, the FT reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

This comes as some investors raise red flags about the funding behind the rush to build ever more data centers.

The concern is that some hyperscalers are turning to private equity markets rather than funding the buildings themselves, and entering into lease agreements that could prove risky.

Other AI names also sank on Wednesday, with Broadcom down 5%, Nvidia down 3%, AMD down 4% and CoreWeave falling 5%.

Blue Owl did look into the project, but pulled out due to unfavorable debt terms and the structure of repayments, according to a person familiar with the company’s plans who asked not to be named in order to discuss a confidential matter.

Blue Owl is still involved in two other Oracle sites, the person said.

The person added that Blue Owl was also concerned that local politics in Michigan would cause construction delays.

Oracle later responded to the FT report, saying the project was moving forward and that Blue Owl was not part of equity talks.

“Our development partner, Related Digital, selected the best equity partner from a competitive group of options, which in this instance was not Blue Owl. Final negotiations for their equity deal are moving forward on schedule and according to plan,” Oracle spokesperson Michael Egbert said in a statement.

The cloud company did not name the firm involved in current equity talks for the project.

“The notion that Blue Owl walked away is unequivocally false,” Ravitz said. “This is an exceptional project that drew significant interest from equity partners,” Related Digital spokesperson Natalie Ravitz told CNBC.

Ravitz said the equity partner working on the project has “unparalleled expertise in the space” but did not name the firm.

The site, which is expected to begin construction in the first quarter next year, is currently in pre-construction with “strong support” from Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, she added.

CNBC has reached out to the FT for comment.

The FT said that Blackstone is in discussions to potentially replace Blue Owl Capital as a financial partner for the data center, although no deal has been signed yet.

Blue Owl Capital has been the primary investor in Oracle’s data center projects in the U.S., including a $15 billion center in Abilene, Texas, and an $18 billion site in New Mexico, the FT said.

“This appears to be a case where the deal simply wasn’t the right one, and seasoned investors understand that success does not require winning every transaction,” Evercore ISI analysts wrote in a note on Wednesday.

The bank added that digital infrastructure remains a “core growth vertical” for the Blue Owl, noting an upcoming digital infrastructure fund in 2026 that would add to its $7 billion fund announced in May.

Oracle has $248 billion in lease commitments for data centers and cloud capacity commitments over the next 15 to 19 years as of Nov. 30, the company said in its latest quarterly filing. That is up almost 148% from August.

In September, the cloud computing giant raised $18 billion in new debt, according to an SEC filing. That same month, OpenAI announced a $300 billion partnership with Oracle over the next five years.

By the end of November, the company owed over $124 billion, including operating lease liabilities, according to the filing.

Oracle shares are down about 50% from the high of $345.72 reached in September.

Ethereum is under significant pressure as the broader crypto market enters a corrective phase. After reaching a new all-time high of around $4,950 on August 24, ETH has now shed more than 22% of its value, slipping below the psychological $4,000 level. The steep pullback has left many investors in difficult positions, with some of the largest players in the market also feeling the impact.

According to top analyst Maartunn, even BitMine, one of the largest institutional holders of Ethereum, has seen its ETH position dip below its on-chain cost basis. This marks a critical moment, as whales typically act as stabilizers during corrections, and their unrealized losses reflect the depth of current market stress.

Despite this downturn, some analysts argue that Ethereum’s retracement may represent a healthy reset after weeks of overheated momentum. Corrections of this scale are not unusual following parabolic rallies and often serve to shake out excess leverage before setting up for longer-term stability. Still, with sentiment fragile and selling pressure mounting, the coming days will be pivotal for ETH as it tests key support levels and investors closely monitor whale behavior for signs of renewed confidence.

BitMine’s ETH Play Falls Below Cost Basis

According to top analyst Maartunn, Ethereum’s correction has placed one of the market’s largest institutional holders under heavy pressure. BitMine’s ETH portfolio, valued at roughly $7.5 billion, has just dipped below its on-chain cost basis around the $4,000 level. This development underscores the severity of the recent downturn and highlights that even large-scale players are not immune to the pain of corrections.

BitMine Ethereum Average Cost Basis | Source: Maartunn

Maartunn emphasizes that this stage of the market is less about timing the perfect entry or exit and more about endurance. As he put it, “It’s about who can hold their breath the longest.” The remark reflects a broader sentiment among analysts who view the current environment as a psychological test for both retail and institutional investors. With volatility high and sentiment deteriorating, the ability to withstand drawdowns may determine who ultimately benefits from the next phase of Ethereum’s cycle.

The outlook remains divided. Optimists argue that this is a necessary pullback before Ethereum gears up for a massive leg higher, supported by growing institutional adoption and strong long-term fundamentals. On the other hand, cautious voices warn of a deeper correction, noting that breaking below critical support levels could trigger further downside.

The coming weeks will likely prove decisive. If ETH can stabilize above the $3,800–$4,000 range, confidence may return quickly. However, if selling pressure intensifies, the market could face an extended period of uncertainty before momentum rebuilds.

Bulls Struggle To Find Support

Ethereum (ETH) has broken below the critical $4,000 level, now trading around $3,891, as shown on the 12-hour chart. This decline marks a continuation of the bearish trend that started after the September peak near $4,950. The breakdown has been accompanied by rising trading volume, confirming strong selling pressure and suggesting that bears currently dominate the market.

The 50-day EMA has crossed below the $4,400 zone, reinforcing near-term weakness, while the 200-day EMA around $3,650 now acts as the next major support level. The price action shows a decisive rejection from the $4,600–$4,800 resistance range earlier this month, followed by a steep selloff that erased more than 20% of ETH’s value.

If ETH holds above the $3,850–$3,900 zone, it could attempt a rebound and retest the $4,200 resistance. However, failure to defend this range risks further downside toward $3,650–$3,700, where the 200-day EMA and previous accumulation levels converge.

Ethereum is in a corrective phase, but the volume spike suggests potential exhaustion of sellers. The coming sessions will determine whether bulls can reclaim $4,000 to stabilize momentum or if further capitulation is ahead.

Despite global uncertainties and market volatility, India’s long-term growth and consumption story remain strong, said Daljeet Kohli, Head of Equities at Roha Asset Managers LLP.

Speaking to ET Now, Kohli noted that short-term hiccups caused by geopolitical tensions and tariffs will not derail India’s growth momentum. “Volatility is something we have to live with in equity markets. But the big picture is intact. India’s consumption story is here to stay for the long term,” he said.

According to Kohli, the proposed GST cuts could act as a “game changer” for domestic demand. He explained that over the last few years, urban households struggled with inflation, while rural areas faced weak income growth due to erratic monsoons. Now, with inflation easing, interest rates being cut, and government schemes putting more money into rural hands, both engines of growth—urban and rural consumption—are set to fire together. A GST cut of 5–10% across categories, he added, could kickstart a fresh consumption cycle.

Kohli further pointed out that while markets have recently slipped below key levels, selective opportunities are emerging. “If the market has disproportionately punished certain stocks, those may turn out to be the best buys once sentiment improves,” he noted.

On the stock market outlook, Kohli argued that periods of uncertainty offer opportunities for long-term investors. “You don’t need to time the market perfectly. If you believe these issues are temporary, you can deploy capital gradually and benefit as conditions stabilise,” he advised.

Beyond consumption, Kohli highlighted sectors less affected by tariffs, such as farming, agrochemicals, and certain segments of pharmaceuticals and contract manufacturing. “Some companies can easily pass on the impact of tariffs, while others, like CDMO players, won’t feel much pressure. Investors should go sector by sector, company by company, to find those that can withstand current challenges,” he said.

“The full year results, led by reported revenue growth of 4 per cent, are in line with our January guidance, reflecting a resilient performance in a challenging year. After a muted first half, driven by a sectoral downturn in US biotech funding, we are encouraged to see a return to growth in the second half of the year,” Syngene International MD and CEO Peter Bains stated. Looking at the year ahead, while the wider global market dynamics remain uncertain, the company expects the business momentum to continue with pipeline build in both small and large molecules, supported by new pilot programs and conversion of existing pilots in discovery services. “On an underlying basis for FY26, we expect revenue growth in the early teens reflecting a broad-based growth across research, development and manufacturing services,” Bains said.

Adjusted for inventory balancing in large molecule commercial manufacturing at client level, the reported revenue growth is likely to be at mid-single digit, he added.

Shares of the company on Wednesday ended 1.99 per cent up at Rs 750.05 apiece on the BSE.

Ethereum is currently trading at a critical resistance level as bulls attempt to regain momentum and push for a fresh high. The broader market remains under pressure as global uncertainty escalates, largely fueled by ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China. Last week, US President Donald Trump announced a 90-day tariff pause on all countries except China, intensifying concerns about an extended trade conflict that could destabilize global financial markets.

Related Reading

In this high-stakes environment, Ethereum’s price action is drawing close attention from investors and analysts. Top crypto analyst Ali Martinez shared that historically, the best Ethereum buying opportunities have emerged when the price drops below the lower MVRV (Market Value to Realized Value) Price Band—a level that signals potential undervaluation. Notably, ETH is now trading precisely in that zone.

This alignment between technical conditions and macroeconomic instability suggests that Ethereum could be entering a phase of accumulation, with long-term investors looking to capitalize on discounted prices. However, sustained upward momentum will depend on whether bulls can overcome immediate resistance and whether macro conditions improve. The coming days could prove pivotal for ETH as it tests both technical and psychological thresholds.

Ethereum Dips Into Historical Opportunity Zone

Ethereum is currently trading below key resistance levels after enduring several weeks of selling pressure and weak market performance. Since losing the crucial $2,000 support level, ETH has fallen roughly 21%, a clear indication that bulls have yet to regain control. Broader macroeconomic pressures, especially rising global tensions and uncertain trade conditions between the US and China, have further dampened market sentiment. These conditions have driven many investors to exit riskier assets like cryptocurrencies, leading to elevated volatility and reduced market participation.

Despite this downtrend, some analysts believe Ethereum could be nearing a pivotal turnaround zone. According to Martinez, one of the best historical signals for Ethereum accumulation has been price action dipping below the lower bound of the MVRV Price Band—a metric that compares market value to realized value to assess whether an asset is over- or undervalued. Currently, Ethereum is trading beneath that lower band.

Ethereum MVRV pricing bands | Source: Ali Martinez on X

Martinez emphasizes that this positioning has typically preceded strong upside reversals, especially during periods of extreme market pessimism. While short-term volatility may persist, ETH’s entry into this zone could present a rare opportunity for long-term investors to accumulate at historically discounted levels—if market conditions stabilize and sentiment shifts.

Related Reading

ETH Stalls In Tight Range

Ethereum is currently trading at $1,610 after nearly a week of low volatility and sideways action. Since last Tuesday, ETH has remained locked in a tight range between $1,550 and $1,630, reflecting the market’s uncertainty and hesitation to take a clear directional stance. This narrow trading zone highlights a period of price compression, often a precursor to a larger move in either direction.

ETH trading in a narrow range | Source: ETHUSDT chart on TradingView

For bulls to regain momentum and shift sentiment, Ethereum must reclaim the $1,700 level and push decisively above the $2,000 mark. These levels not only serve as key psychological barriers but also represent critical zones of previous support that have now turned into resistance. A breakout above $2,000 would likely trigger renewed buying interest and set the stage for a potential recovery rally.

Related Reading

However, if bearish pressure builds and the $1,550 floor is breached, Ethereum could quickly test the $1,500 support zone. A breakdown below that level would confirm further downside risk, potentially accelerating sell-offs and deepening the current correction. Until a breakout or breakdown occurs, traders should prepare for more consolidation and volatility as the market awaits a macro or technical catalyst.
