Trent has fixed Friday, May 29, 2026 as the record date to determine shareholders eligible for its first-ever bonus share issue in a 1:2 ratio. In an exchange filing, the Tata Group retail company said shareholders will receive one bonus equity share for every two fully paid-up equity shares held as on the record date, subject to statutory and regulatory approvals, including shareholder approval through a postal ballot.

The announcement follows Trent’s earlier disclosure of the bonus issue alongside its Q4 results and a Rs 6 dividend. The company had at the time indicated that the record date would be announced separately.

The bonus issue marks a milestone for the Westside and Zudio parent, which has never issued bonus shares before. As part of the plan, Trent will issue around 17.77 crore equity shares of Re 1 face value each, capitalising a portion of its share premium reserves.

The company expects to complete the allotment of these bonus shares by June 21, drawing from its share premium pool, which stood at over Rs 1,900 crore as of March-end FY26.

A bonus issue involves distributing additional shares to existing shareholders at no extra cost, typically reflecting a company’s confidence in its financial position and growth outlook. While the move increases the total number of outstanding shares, it does not alter the company’s overall market capitalisation. However, it tends to improve stock liquidity and makes shares more accessible to retail investors.

Only those shareholders holding Trent shares as of May 29 will be eligible to receive the bonus allotment.

Trent reported a 26% growth in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, at Rs 400 crore versus Rs 318 crore in the year-ago period. Its revenue from operations, meanwhile, rose 19% YoY to Rs 5,028 crore in Q4 FY26.Further, Trent has also earlier approved the plan to raise additional funds through the issue of equity shares via rights issue or other methods. The company announced an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) to issue nearly 8.89 lakh shares to its eligible shareholders.

Tiwary added that the performance was “attributed to strategic investments in increasing capacity and building our brands, supported by a market recovery following GST benefits,” and noted that consumer-focused media and advertising spending rose 42% year on year during the quarter. He said the quarter demonstrated the company’s “resilience and adaptability in a competitive market,” adding that growth was driven by faster decision-making and “the positive momentum from GST rate rationalization”.

Broad-based category growth

Nestle India said all four of its product groups delivered positive, volume-led growth during the quarter, with three reporting robust double-digit growth. Confectionery was the fastest-growing segment, while the powdered and liquid beverages business recorded its 18th consecutive quarter of double-digit sell-out growth.

The company also flagged strong momentum across channels, including general trade, e-commerce and its out-of-home business, Nestle Professional, while exports posted high double-digit growth, led by coffee.

ICICI Prudential AMC is set to launch its initial public offering on December 12, opening one of the largest IPOs in the financial services sector this year. The issue will remain open until December 16, with anchor investors participating a day earlier on December 11.

This is a pure offer for sale by Prudential Corporation Holdings, meaning ICICI Prudential AMC itself will not receive any funds from the IPO. The company is offering 4.90 crore equity shares, which translates to roughly 9.9% of its paid-up equity, with the estimated issue value at the upper end coming to about Rs 10,600 crore. The price band has been fixed at Rs 2,061 to Rs 2,165 per share.

Investors will be able to bid in a minimum lot of six shares, with the final ticket size dependent on the lot confirmation in the RHP. Shares will be allocated on December 17, refunds and demat credits will be completed on December 18, and trading will begin on December 19 on both the NSE and BSE.

The quota structure follows the standard book-building pattern, with 50% reserved for qualified institutional buyers, 15% for non-institutional investors and 35% for retail investors.

Shareholders quota and cut-off data

The IPO has a dedicated shareholder quota for ICICI Bank shareholders. Around 24.5 lakh shares have been earmarked for investors who hold ICICI Bank shares as of the cut-off date mentioned in the RHP. This is expected to draw interest, as shareholder categories often see higher participation due to better allotment visibility.

Business overview

ICICI Prudential AMC enters the market as India’s second-largest asset manager by quarterly average AUM, managing Rs 10.87 lakh crore as of September 2025. The company runs more than 140 mutual fund schemes across equity, debt, hybrid, passive and solution-oriented products.

It also operates PMS and ETF businesses, catering to a diverse investor base of 1.5 crore individuals. The AMC is a joint venture between ICICI Bank and Prudential Corporation of the UK. After the sale, ICICI Bank will retain 51% ownership, while Prudential’s stake will fall from 49% to nearly 39%.The company’s financial performance shows strong momentum. Revenue grew 32% in FY25 compared with the previous year, while profit after tax rose 29% to Rs 2,650.66 crore. As of September 2025, ICICI Prudential AMC reported half-year revenue of Rs 2,949.61 crore and profit of Rs 1,617.74 crore.

Its asset base also expanded sharply, rising to Rs 4,827.34 crore by September. The increase in profitability reflects operating leverage in the asset management business, where rising AUM and higher equity participation improve margins.

The industry backdrop remains favourable. With the financialisation of household savings accelerating, mutual funds continue to gain acceptance across urban and semi-urban India. ICICI Prudential AMC enjoys leadership in active equity AUM, and its wide product suite positions it to capture the next leg of growth in ETFs, asset allocation products, and long-term SIP flows.

The business carries high operating margins and low capital requirements, features that typically attract long-term investors.

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has set December 5, 2025, as the record date for the demerger of its ice-cream business into a new entity — Kwality Wall’s (India) Limited (KWIL).

This date will determine the eligible HUL shareholders entitled to receive KWIL equity shares and the demerger scheme itself is scheduled to become effective on December 1, 2025.

The FMCG major had announced about the demerger in January 2025 and received regulatory approvals from BSE and NSE in May.

Through the demerger, the HUL aims to unlock additional value by separating the high-growth segment from its core FMCG operations.

Following the demerger, The Magnum Ice Cream Company will acquire 61.9% of Kwality Wall’s (India) Limited from the Unilever Group.

The PAT figure is attributable to the owners of the company.
Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle (TMCV) arm will list on the exchanges on November 12. The new entity will trade in the T Group of Securities. According to the BSE notice, 368 crore equity shares of face value Rs 2 each will be admitted to trading under the ticker TMCV. The stock will remain in the trade-for-trade segment for the first 10 sessions, a standard listing rule for new or relisted companies.

The listing completes a landmark restructuring that split Tata Motors into two independent listed companies, one focused on commercial vehicles and the other on passenger vehicles, electric vehicles (EVs), and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

The demerger took effect on October 1, with a 1:1 share entitlement ratio, meaning investors received one share in the CV business for every Tata Motors share held as of the record date, October 14.

Under the approved scheme of arrangement, the CV business retains the Tata Motors name, while the newly formed Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPV) will house the domestic car, EV, and JLR divisions.

Analysts see the separation as a major value-unlocking and governance milestone for the Tata Group’s flagship automaker. The move is part of Tata Motors plan to grant operational independence to both divisions, allowing each to pursue distinct growth priorities.

The PV arm will now focus on premium and electric mobility, while the CV entity — spanning trucks, buses, and defense vehicles — will drive growth in logistics, infrastructure, and fleet electrification.Following the record date adjustment, Tata Motors pre-demerger stock price of Rs 660.75 was split between the two entities, with TMPV valued around Rs 400 per share and the yet-to-list CV arm implied at Rs 260-270 per share.Brokerages remain largely positive on the CV listing. Nomura has pegged fair values for TMPV and TMLCV at Rs 367 and Rs 365 respectively, while SBI Securities sees the CV arm’s value between Rs 320-470 per share, factoring in growth from the planned acquisition of Italy’s Iveco Group’s commercial vehicle operations.

For Tata Motors, the move marks the culmination of a multi-year restructuring to simplify its business architecture and align its legacy commercial division with a global product and technology roadmap.
