Delta Air Lines Inc. said it expects to suspend operations at New York’s LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International airports as well as Boston Logan International Airport into Tuesday as a major blizzard heads for the region.

“The storm is also creating broader disruptions along the East Coast, and customers may experience additional schedule adjustments as the system moves through the region,” Delta said in a statement Sunday.

More than 8,500 flights have been canceled through Tuesday, according to tracking site FlightAware. A long stretch of the US Northeast is expected to get between 15 and 20 inches (38 to 50 centimeters) of snow as the storm intensifies Sunday into Monday, also bringing high winds.

Delta urged affected customers to reschedule their flights to before or after the storm, saying it’s offering a fare-difference waiver from Wednesday through Saturday.

Titan Company’s consumer businesses registered a growth of 40% year-on-year in the December-ended quarter. The international business grew 79% YoY while domestic clocked a 38% growth over the same quarter in the year ago period. The Tata Group company added 56 stores taking its retail network to 3,433 stores.

The company announced its Q3 updates late Tuesday and its shares ended with gains of 0.8% at 4,112.

The fashion & lifestyle retailer domestic business segments comprise jewellery, watches, eyecare and emerging businesses.

Here’s is the segment-wise performance:

Jewellery

Buoyed by a vibrant festive demand, the jewellery portfolio clocked a robust 41% YoY growth in Q3FY26. Revenue growth was driven by substantial average selling price (ASP) increases, offsetting flattish buyer growths.

“To navigate the elevated gold price environment, Tanishq deployed a powerful gold exchange offer that sustained consumer engagement beyond the traditional festive window,” a company filing to the exchanges said.

The company reported distinct consumer patterns across product categories with dold coins nearly doubling in sales versus Q3FY25. Studded clocked its best performance (yet) for FY26, exhibiting healthy double-digit growth in the mid-twenties and well supported by buyer growth in the sub-segment.

Of the 47 new store additions (net) in India, 10 were in Tanishq, 11 in Mia, 1 in Zoya, 1 in beYon and 24 in CaratLane respectively.

Watches

Watches division’s growth stood at 13% YoY, primarily led by analog watches which recorded a healthy festive performance of 17% YoY growth. This division added 22 new stores consisting of 9 stores in Titan World, 9 stores in Fastrack, 3 stores in Helios and 1 store in Helios Luxe respectively.

EyeCare

This division achieved a 16% YoY growth, led by both international and house brands contributing well to the overall product mix. International brands growth was powered by strong demand for sunglasses and prescription lenses. E-commerce continued to be a key driver of the division’s expansion strategy enabling higher omni-channel sales.

As part of the network optimisation in Titan Eye+, Division opened 11 new stores, renovated 20 stores and closed 30 stores during this period.

Emerging Businesses

Fragrances segment grew 22% YoY led by double-digit volume growths in Fastrack and Skinn despite ASPs remaining at similar levels as Q3FY25. Women’s Bags grew 111% YoY driven by nearly twofold growth in overall volumes and healthy double-digit ASP growths in Fastrack and Irth brands.

International businesses

The international businesses primarily comprising jewellery (Tanishq, Mia and CaratLane) grew 81% YoY led by robust performance in all the markets of GCC, Singapore and North America (NA). During the quarter, Tanishq opened 2 new stores in the NA market, one each in Boston and Orlando.

Renowned personal finance author, known for his book Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki, has once again stirred debate with his sharp commentary on the global financial system, referring to their ‘game’ as “Heads I win, tails you lose.”

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Kiyosaki posted a message under the banner “Lesson #8: How to get richer as the global economy crashes”, urging followers to understand what he refers to as the “REAL GAME” being played by global bankers.

In his post, Kiyosaki states that the true dynamic of the system can be summed up as “Heads I win, tails you lose”, alleging that bankers benefit regardless of market direction. “The bankers of the world control the world because they control global cash flow,” he wrote.

He argues that the system is rigged in favor of financial institutions, where “heads bankers win, tails bankers win… but you lose.”

Live Events

Kiyosaki asserts that this translates to a broader systemic issue: “Privatize our wins…socialize our losses.” According to him, when banks succeed, they retain the profits, but in times of crisis, the losses are passed onto taxpayers. Citing the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, Kiyosaki remarked that when banks lost billions, the public “covered their loss via an increase in taxes.”

Advocates alternative assets: Gold, silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereum

Rejecting what he terms a “rigged” financial system, Kiyosaki advocated for ownership of tangible assets outside the banking system. He listed gold, silver, Bitcoin, and Ethereum as examples of such assets and emphasized that he chooses not to participate in the current financial structure by legally avoiding taxes and diversifying into these instruments.“I choose not to play that game by learning how NOT to pay taxes legally and own tangible assets outside the banking system,” he posted. The statement underscores Kiyosaki’s long-standing preference for precious metals and decentralized assets as part of his wealth strategy.

Kiyosaki also recommended the book Tax-Free Wealth by his advisor Tom Wheelwright for those interested in learning how to reduce their tax liabilities legally. He added that the book is “true throughout most of the world’s economies because the rich do not pay taxes in most countries.”

In his message, Kiyosaki recalled America’s founding in 1773 as a tax-free nation, referencing the Boston Tea Party to support his views on tax resistance.

Final word

Kiyosaki ended his post with a cautionary note to his followers: “Don’t be a loser. Get smarter with your money. Take care.”

The author of the bestselling book Rich Dad Poor Dad has consistently been a vocal critic of centralized financial institutions and fiat currency, while promoting self-education, asset diversification, and long-term wealth building strategies.

NEW YORK: U.S. stocks ended sharply higher on Friday as traders boosted bets on an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve next month, while all three of the major indexes posted losses for the week amid concerns over lofty technology valuations. Shares of Nvidia briefly jumped in afternoon trading after sources familiar with the matter said the Trump administration is considering green-lighting sales of the company’s H200 artificial intelligence chips to China. New York Fed President John Williams, a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee, said the central bank can still cut rates “in the near term” without putting its inflation goal at risk.

Traders now see a roughly 70% chance that the Fed will cut its main lending rate by 25 basis points in December, up from a near 37% chance seen earlier in the day, according to the CME FedWatch Tool.

“The big tailwind today is that shift in rate cut odds for the December Fed meeting,” said Ross Mayfield, investment strategist at Baird in Louisville, Kentucky.

According to preliminary data, the S&P 500 gained 64.89 points, or 0.99%, to end at 6,603.65 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 192.83 points, or 0.87%, to 22,273.08. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 505.03 points, or 1.08%, to 46,257.29.

Stocks have been volatile in the past two sessions, reflecting heightened investor anxiety over sky-high valuations in the technology sector and over what may happen at the December Fed meeting.

Boston Fed President Susan Collins said on CNBC that policy was “in the right place,” indicating skepticism about the need for another rate cut. Her stance contrasts with dovish signals from some peers, a divergence that could stoke market volatility ahead of the December meeting. Global brokerages remained divided over the likelihood of a December rate cut after Thursday’s release of the long-delayed September jobs report, which marks the last employment reading before the Fed’s verdict next month. Eli Lilly shares ended higher after the company became the first drugmaker to touch a $1 trillion market capitalization. Alphabet shares closed sharply higher as well on Friday.

Boston Federal Reserve President Susan Collins on Wednesday said she will be reluctant to support further interest rate cuts anytime soon with inflation still high and policymakers hampered by a lack of data due to the government shutdown.

“Given my baseline outlook, it will likely be appropriate to keep policy rates at the current level for some time to balance the inflation and employment risks in this highly uncertain environment,” the central bank official said in remarks delivered in her home district. “I see several reasons to have a relatively high bar for additional easing in the near term.”

Collins’s comments are notable because she is a voting member of the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee. Her remarks put her on the hawkish side of the rate debate, highlighting a fissure among committee members that led Chair Jerome Powell to say in October that a cut at the December meeting is not a foregone conclusion, despite market pricing of a high probability.

Collins supported the quarter percentage point rate cut at the October meeting but indicated that further easing could thwart the Fed’s efforts to get inflation lower.

While Collins said softness in the labor market “bears watching,” she added that the risks of inflation staying above the Fed’s 2% target warrant caution.

“Against this backdrop, providing additional monetary support to economic activity runs the risk of slowing – or possibly even stalling – the return of inflation to target,” she said. “And with resilient demand, the downside risks to employment, while present, do not seem to have increased further since the summer.”

Collins also noted the role that the government shutdown is playing in her decision making. The impasse appears to be over, but White House press secretary said Wednesday that key reports on inflation and employment may not be available at all for October.

“Absent evidence of a notable labor market deterioration, I would be hesitant to ease policy further, especially given the limited information on inflation due to the government shutdown,” Collins said.

The FOMC in October voted 10-2 for the cut. Governor Stephen Miran voted no because he wanted a bigger reduction, while Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid opposed because he favored no cut.

U.S. airlines started canceling hundreds of flights on Friday, hours after the Federal Aviation Administration ordered the cuts amid the more-than-monthlong government shutdown.

The reductions were ordered as air traffic controllers have missed their paychecks due to the government shutdown, now the longest in U.S. history. Air traffic control staffing shortages have been disrupting flights at several major U.S. airports, vexing travelers and airline executives alike.

Air traffic controller shortages were delaying flights at several major U.S. airports on Friday, including Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, San Francisco International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta.

The sudden flight cuts this week forced airlines to scramble with schedule adjustments and making sure crews are where they need to be despite the last-minute changes.

Roughly 780 U.S. flights were canceled as of 2 p.m. ET Friday, according to aviation data firm Cirium, about 3% of the total schedule for the day. That scale of disruption is fairly common for routine disruptions like major thunderstorms, but the Department of Transportation warned that cancellations could ramp up.

According to the FAA’s order, the flight cuts will increase to 10% over the next week, beginning with 4% on Friday, 6% by Tuesday, 8% by Thursday and finally 10% on Nov. 14.

Friday’s cancellation levels were the 72nd worst for the U.S. flights market since Jan. 1, 2024, according to Cirium. That period also included a Southwest Airlines Christmas meltdown after severe weather and mass delays at Delta Air Lines last summer in the wake of a CrowdStrike tech outage.

While the FAA required airlines to make cuts, the general aviation sector, which includes private jets, was not required to make similarly broad cuts. The order, however, said that staffing shortages could affect general aviation and that those private flights could face up to 10% cuts at airports that the agency designated “high-impact,” including New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport and Texas’ William P. Hobby Airport in Houston and Dallas Love Field.

The FAA didn’t respond to requests for comment.

A spokesman for the National Business Aviation Association said the industry is also affected by air traffic staffing shortages and reduced capacity, and that airports could deny some airplanes the ability to land there.

NBAA’s president and CEO Ed Bolen said that “our sector will continue to pursue mandatory and voluntary means to ensure we are part of the solution to the challenges posed in the current environment.”

The financial impact of the latest disruptions isn’t immediately clear. The cancellations could help lift airlines’ unit revenue with customers competing for fewer seats, “but we also believe the prolonged shutdown and widespread cancelations will impact booking demand in the near term,” Scott Group, an airline analyst at Wolfe Research, wrote in a note Friday.

The cuts come during a generally low-demand period for travel ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, but it still sent many travelers searching for alternatives. Rental car company Hertz said that reservations over the past two days for one-way rentals spiked more than 20% from the same period last year.

Major network airlines said the disruptions were largely centered on regional flights that fly to smaller cities. United Airlines, for example, said its hub-to-hub flying and its long-haul international flights wouldn’t be canceled because of the order.

American Airlines, for its part, said it was limiting disruptions to customers by avoiding cuts to routes it only flies once or twice a day. Instead, the airline is trimming a few flights a day from high-frequency markets – like reducing daily departures between its hub at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Northwest Arkansas National Airport from 10 to eight, and Boston Logan International to Ronald Reagan Washington National from 10 to nine.

The carrier canceled 221 flights on Friday, according to CEO Robert Isom, who said the airline is “frustrated” with the reduction.

Isom said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that the airline is working to ensure flights to all destinations still remain in place, but that the frequency of those flight paths is decreasing.

“What we’ve done today is we tried to minimize the impact on all of our customers — there’s only 220 flights out of 6,200 flights, and we’ve done it in a way that really impacts our smaller aircraft,” Isom said. “This level of cancellation is going to grow over time, and that’s something that is going to be problematic.”

Airlines offered travelers alternative flights and waived change fees for affected customers.

Experts recommend staying on top of changing schedules by checking airline apps and websites, as well as reviewing the fine print on travel insurance.

AAA spokesperson Aixa Diaz said the company recommends arriving at the airport two hours early to avoid long lines and avoid checking in a bag if possible in case flights get canceled, though flexibility will be the most important for all travelers during this period.

Travel insurance experts warn that policies don’t always offer blanket protection for shutdown-related changes, and that refunds can often come down to the specific rationale used by the airline to determine the cause of delay or cancellation.

According to Lauren McCormick, a spokesperson for travel insurance platform Squaremouth, airlines sometimes won’t cite causes other than general delays even during a shutdown, which could make it harder to get a refund. Some credit cards provide trip insurance, but it’s not a guarantee.

The Boston-based company is targeting a valuation of around $1.5 billion, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named discussing internal matters. That valuation may change as Lendbuzz and its advisors hold discussions with investors.

The decade-old company uses alternative data and machine learning algorithms to assess the creditworthiness of consumers with limited financial history. Lendbuzz’s loans are funded by asset-backed securitization, warehouse loans from traditional banks and through the sale of portfolios to institutional investors – mainly insurance companies – that are looking for yield.
