Kahathuduwa Police have apprehended a suspect involved in the theft of motorcycles from several areas.
According to police, the suspect had stolen three motorcycles, worth more than Rs. 1 million, from Kahathuduwa, Mirigama, and Katunayake areas.
Additionally, three stolen mobile phones have also been found in the suspect’s possession.
During interrogations, the suspect had disclosed that he had pawned the stolen motorcycles for a total of Rs.150,000 at two locations in Andiambalama area. Accordingly, the police have taken measures to take the pawned motorcycles into police custody.
The arrested suspect is a 53-year-old resident of Batuwita area. Kahathuduwa Police is conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
