Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 30.45 points up at 19465.0 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as Goldstar Power, Synoptics Technologi, BKM Industries, Genesys Intnl and Oriana Power, touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 25 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 25 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Apollo Hospital, UltraTech Cem., NTPC, Tata Motors and Infosys were among top gainers during the day, while Tata Steel, Adani Ports SEZ, Hindalco, HDFC Life and Bharti Airtel ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 137.5 points up at 65539.42.
Traders piled up positions in Paper, IT – Hardware, Miscellaneous, Learning & Education and Telecommunications sectors, while selling was witnessed in Banks, Irrigation & Allied Services, Airlines, Petrochemicals and Building Materials sectors during the day.
