Shares of Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 2.28 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.57 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.1 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.78 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.58 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.62 per cent up at 48983.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 42.05 points at 22530.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 75.71 points at 73961.31. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, Canara Bank and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Techno Electric, Bharat Rasayan, J Kumar Infra, Jindal Stainless and WABCO India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Sadhana Nitro, Revathi Equipment, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem, Awfis Space Solution and Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels hit their fresh 52-week lows.
