Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 3.6 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 3.28 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.7 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.14 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 1.83 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.29 per cent up at 21419.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 203.25 points at 22326.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 655.04 points at 73651.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 7 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank, YES Bank, NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Onelife Capital, IFB Industries, Dynacons Sys, Wonderla Holidays and Century Texttiles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while SITI Networks, Camlin Fine Sc, Dwarikesh Sugar, Nureca Ltd and Sintex Plastics Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
