Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.02 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 2.99 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 2.97 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 2.61 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(up 2.19 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 2.12 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.56 per cent up at 22886.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 203.3 points at 22403.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 676.69 points at 73663.72. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, RattanIndia Power, Canara Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Honeywell, Kirloskar Bros., HAL, Kirloskar Elec and Aadhar Housing Fin hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Brightcom Group, SEL Manufact, Ebixcash World Money, IRB InvIT Fund and Mask Investments hit their fresh 52-week lows.
