Shares of Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 2.68 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.1 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 1.8 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.22 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(up 1.2 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 3.08 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.27 per cent up at 18765.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 202.91 points at 22097.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 759.49 points at 73327.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Infibeam Avenues and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Dredging Corp, Tera Software, Tourism Finance, Dhanlaxmi Bank and SBC Exports hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while M K Proteins, Digidrive Distributo, SKS Textiles, Raj Rayon and Happy Forgings hit their fresh 52-week lows.
